myHyundai Digital Experience

My team at IBM iX helped Hyundai create an end to end digital customer experience platform which serviced all customer touchpoints across all European markets.

Hyundai is one of the world’s largest car manufacturers and a pioneer in the field of alternative drive systems. From the first contact with the brand to personalised offers for existing owners, the digital channels needed to improve to meet the increasing customer expectations.



Previously, Hyundai did not have a unified digital platform in Europe. The challenge was to create a consistent brand experience while meeting the different requirements of the markets. For customers, the aim is to create a seamless experience across all devices and all digital touchpoints. For the markets, the high administration effort caused by the previous systems and diverse technologies should be reduced.

The project included a customer facing website, myHyundai portal for future and existing Hyundai customers and a robust configurator experience that was accessable on the website, in showroom and via the app. 






Spanning a 3 year engagement, starting in 2018 with a service design discovery phase, through an MvP and beta configurator, eventually concluding in early 2021 with the Hyundai Digital Experience this project allowed me to lead the UX and define the visual language for this global Automotive giant. Proudly working along side automotive experts, talented developers and a large team of stakeholders both in the business and across the markets we successfully put Hyundai in prime position to tackle the turbulant changes in consumer behaviour.
